Catch a Fish
(Tune: Row, Row, Row Your Boat)
Catch, catch, catch a fish
Hook it on your line
Reel it, reel it, reel it in,
This one will be mine
(pretend to fish)

Did You Ever See a Fishy
(Tune: Did You Ever See a Lassie)
Did you ever see a fishy, a fishy, a fishy (hold palms together)
Did you ever see a fishy, swim this way and that (wiggle palms like fish from side to side)
Swim this way and that way and that way and this way
Did you ever see a fishy, swim this way and that

Once I Caught a Fish Alive
One, two, three, four, five (hold up fingers)
Once I caught a fish alive (put palms together and wiggle them)
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten (hold up fingers)
Then I let it go again (make throwing motion)
Why did you let it go?
Because it bit my finger so (shake hand)
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on my right (wiggle pinky)

Five Little Fishies

img_9234

Five little fishies swimming in the sea (swimming motion)
Teasing Mr. Shark “You can’t catch me” (wiggle fingers on sides of head)
Along comes Mr. Shark as quiet as can be (whisper, hold palms together and move them)
And snatches that fishy right out of the sea (clap hands)
(count down)

My co-worker made these adorable sparkly fish and Dory. There was no way I was going to let Dory get eaten by a shark. I asked the children if they thought the shark is going to catch Dory. They all (loudly) shouted NO! I told them they are right, that Dory was too fast and she swam away singing “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.”
